Our mission

• La Classique is an annual event that aims to offer adventure riders and dual-purpose motorcycle enthusiasts a weekend of sports and leisure activities related to their passion. It offers participants the opportunity to discover new off-road trails in the Laurentians region of Quebec.


• The "La Classique" event is managed by a non-profit organization called "Classique Ridaventure O.B.N.L" and is managed by a team of experienced volunteers.


• All the profits collected are returned to the participants in one form or another during the year (first aid training, loan of navigation devices, safety tools etc.). This organization is recognized, respected and appreciated by the community.

Our goals:

• Offer a fun and pertinent event to the benefit of dual-purpose adventure motorcycle enthusiasts;


• Welcome respected trade suppliers (motorcycles, equipment, activities, groups, etc.) that can be a benefit to the participants and visitors;


• Offer routes with off-road trails of different difficulty levels that can appeal to all types of riders;


• Offer activities to improve off-road driving technique and related concepts (mechanics, survival, off-road orientation techniques, etc.).

Means to achieve our objectives:

• Three days of sharing;
• Camping on site;
• Sponsored breakfasts and lunches on Saturday and Sunday;
• End of day meals Saturday and Sunday evening at the Top Shot (Optional).
• Activities, training and events for adventure motorcycles.

Our History

La Classique was created in 2007 when a group of friends decided to organize an adventure motorcycle ride in the Lower Laurentians just north of Montreal. During this first edition, about sixty riders from all over Quebec rode one of the three routes offered at the time, under the difficult conditions of a cold and abundant April rain.

Through adversity, a sense of camaraderie then developed into what eventually became Quebec’s most prominent French language adventure motorbike enthusiasts. RidAventure.ca was born, a community which now boasts over 10000 members.

Since then, this one-day event has grown into a three-day gathering of riding, camping and activities, new routes have since then been created offering different levels of difficulty for adventure motorcycle riders. No matter the weather, the level, the bike, for these enthusiasts, the important thing is to have fun... even through adversity. And that's part of what defines this group now.

Since 2007, volunteers from all over Quebec have generously contributed their time to the success of La Classique.

Without volunteers, the Classique could not exist!

Take note of the following information before proceeding with your registration since you have 3 choices:

1. If you want to participate in the SATURDAY ride only, click on the SATURDAY registration link.
2. If you want to participate in the SUNDAY ride only, click on the SUNDAY registration link.
3. If you wish to participate in both Saturday AND Sunday's rides, you must fill out both forms. Please take note that they are considered as two separate riding days, with all due benefits included, as such, registration fees must be paid for both.
4. A third link will be available shortly in the camping section to register if you want to camp, park your vehicle and trailer and help out as a volunteer.

MORE DETAILS ON THE CLASSIQUE REGISTRATION PROCESS

Registration of motorcycles only

• Registration will takes place in 4 successive stages (dates and pricing will be announced shortly).


• Participants that wish to be accompanied with a passenger can register ONLY on the "CLASSIQUE" route, note that passengers must also register as such as they will benefit of all perks of the ride.


• Note: No change request to be moved to a more difficult level will be accepted.


• No side cases will be permitted. All participants who arrive with side cases must remove them and leave them in the Classique truck. They will be returned to you at the end of the day.


• When registration opens to general public, teams of a maximum of 10 riders will be formed.


• NB: Please take note that your participation will be NON-REFUNDABLE, however could be transferrable up to MAY 1st 2022, please see details in registration form.


• Step 1: Registration of LEADERS



A leader is considered as an event volunteer and must:

• Be a experienced Dualsport/adventure motorcycle rider and able to lead a team of 10 riders for the event.


• Choose a route the he/she can master with ease and safety.


• Have a navigation device (GPS) that can decipher tracks in GPX format and master their use in order to be able to follow the chosen route;


• Ensure that his teammates have the proper skills and equipement required for the type of route that is chosen.


• Act responsibly and safely for the group, following the highway code, the safety rules of the Classique and “common sense” while ensuring that each member of his team applies them.

Step 2: Registration of LEADER'S TEAMMATES

Each leader will be responsible for sending the registration link to each of their teammates and each teammate must:



• provide their leader with information regarding their skills and experience to confirm that they have the necessary skills for the team's level of trail;


• ensure that he will wear the necessary personal safety equipment for the level of difficulty of the chosen route;


• act responsibly and safely for the group, following the instructions of its leader, the Highway Code, the safety rules of the Classique and "common sense".

Step 3: Registration OPEN TO ALL

• Once the registration of teammates recruited by the leaders is complete, a link will be published on the various web platforms (site, Facebook, etc.) to allow all those who do not have a team the opportunity to register in a route level of their choice


• The leader will then contact them to validate the understanding of level of difficulty and riding cadence for the day

Step 4: Waiting List

• Once the daily limit of 400 riders is attained, a priority waiting list will be implemented for each.


• All replacements will be granted by priority and according to your choice of route. In other words, you are replacing someone who is withdrawing from the same route you have chosen.

Refund Policy:

• Please take note that your participation will be NON-REFUNDABLE, however could be transferrable up to MAY 1st 2022, please see details in registration form.
• In the case that the event is affected or canceled by major forces (Pademic or war), reimbursements will be made in % of expenses incurred as of May 1st, 2022.

Regulations - Safety and Ethics

Criteria and safety instructions – THE KEYWORDS: RESPECT, SAFETY AND GOOD MOOD!

• There will be a meeting with the selected leaders in order to establish the code of conduct to be respected and communicated to teammates;
• Collaboration with the Sûreté du Québec, the city of Lachute, the surrounding towns and the MRC in order to promote respect and road safety;
• Minimum of one first aider and first aid kit per team;
• Two service trucks will be on the road to help with mechanical issues or emergencies;
• We ask our participants to respect townspeople, land owners and nature. In residential areas, slow down SIGNIFICANTLY (10km/h below the legal limit ) because even at very low speeds, a group of motorcycles and off-road vehicles can be intimidating. Respect the residents so as not to interfere with our rights of way;
• RIGHTS OF WAY - Please keep in mind that some routes will pass through private land on which the owners have kindly granted us the right of way for the day of the Classique ONLY. Never drive on the private trails of the Classique, AT ANY OTHER TIME.

Group ethics

• Gas tanks MUST be full at the start of the day, extra fuel should be carried for motorcycles with less than 250km's of autonomy.
• Personal protective equipment must be complete and adequate: gloves, helmet, goggles, boots, hard shell back/spine protection;
• You need to watch the teammate behind you and wait for them when they slow down. The chain reaction will thus warn your leader;
• If you lose sight of the teammate behind you, immediately stop in a safe position. Never chase your leader because he might think everything is fine and speed up;
• Keep a sufficient distance from the motorcycle in front of you in order to be able to brake as safely as possible in an emergency situation;
• NEVER cut in the center of a curve. Please ALWAYS stay to the far right as cars often drive in the middle. There is no room for TWO in the center lane (risk of accident and injury/death):
• If you can't get to the extreme right, you need to SLOW DOWN more to get there.
• At intersections, make sure your teammate behind you always follows to prevent the group from splitting and teammates losing their leader;
• If you feel uncomfortable or insecure, your experience level may not be adequate for the group you have chosen. Please notify your leader immediately so that he can adjust his behavior accordingly or, for your ultimate safety ask you to leave the group, in order that to go directly to the next midpoint of the ride.
• Never overtake without the clear permission of the person in front of you.

• In order to take full advantage of the activities offered during the weekend at "La Classique" riders and visitors will be able to camp on site.
• All are welcome!
• o No need to ride to take part in the event! Visitors will be able to enjoy the site’s activities and maybe also to take a look at Lachute’s local attractions
• Access to site for weekend
• Parking only : $10
• Tents, campers and motorhomes (price if for full weekend and includes parking for one vehicle).
• Tent: $25
• Jeep, Van, Overland: $35
• Camper-Motorhome up to 24ft.: $40
• Camper-Motorhome over 24ft.: $50
• Services are limited: Toilets and showers will be available at the arena at specific times. However, there will be no other service (running water, hydro etc.).
• Typical camping rules will apply. We are in a residential neighborhood, respecting them means making sure you can come back!

• No generators after 10 p.m. please
